Methow River
Class III +, 13.5 - 20 miles, 2-4 hours.
Some of the biggest waves in Washington State are found on the Methow River!  The spectacular geological formations create several thrilling rapids like the Black Canyon, which grabs your attention with the roaring sound of a freight train and has waves to match!   Your heart will be pounding as we pass the big hole at Rolling Thunder and head down through the Staircase. Big water here is in early June and this river has even more to offer than the exhilarating whitewater.  There is abundant wildlife, great swimming, and of course, the scenery.  

The Methow River is located near the Western theme town of Winthrop.  Come join us for a great time in the sun!

Methow River – Put-In
Action Rafting Co. will meet you at the Methow River, just off of Highway 153 near Pateros, WA.

Driving from the Wenatchee Valley
Drive North on Hwy. 97 or 97 alt. (past Chelan, towards Pateros)
Turn North onto Hwy 153, at 1 mile, turn RT onto gravel road/parking area, this is our take out. Look for a silver 24‚ bus with our red logo, ARC.

Located at .6 miles, on Hwy 153, there is a public fishing, parking/bathroom area, you need to drive past this parking area to our take out.

Driving from the North Cascades Highway
Drive Hwy 20 to Hwy 153
Drive South on Hwy 153 towards Pateros
Our take out is located on your left, 1 mile up river from the confluence of the Methow / Columbia River, on Hwy 153.
If you drive to Jct. 97, turn around and our take out will be located just 1 mile back on your right. Look for a silver 24‚ bus with our red logo, ARC.

Located at .6 miles, on Hwy 153, there is a public fishing, parking/bathroom area, you
need to drive past this parking area to our take out.
